Virtual Employer Services

Here is how to connect with LMU students and alumni virtually through our various services, programs, and offerings:

Ask Me Anything Panels, Brand Awareness Sessions or Workshops

Host a virtual resume workshop or promote general opportunities within your organization and help familiarize students with your company’s culture. Work with a CPD staff member to create a virtual event that is right for you. We encourage you to host your virtual session via Zoom, as all LMU students have their own Zoom accounts. Get help setting up a Zoom account. When your Zoom meeting has been scheduled, email us the date and time along with the Zoom Meeting URL and ID number and we will promote to our students.

  1. Log into Handshake (If you do not already have an account, please register)
  2. Click on the blue “Create an Event” button
  3. Complete the Request Form, enter and submit details regarding your Virtual Session request. Choose “Virtual” as the event format.
  4. Click "Save" at the bottom of the page
  5. Event Requests will be approved within one to two business days

Job & Internship Postings

LMU is pleased to invite you to post internship and employment opportunities easily and at no charge through Handshake, our online database reaching thousands of students and alumni. Creating an account is simple; please consult LMU’s Employer Agreement and Responsibilities prior to posting.

Micro-Internship Postings

Beyond offering job or internship opportunities for LMU students and alumni to gain experience and strengthen their skills, Micro-Internships provide you and your colleagues with immediate support on short-term work projects and assignments. In addition, Micro-Internships support your university recruiting efforts by helping you identify, assess, and cultivate relationships with LMU students and alumni who may be prospective job candidates.

Micro-Internships typically require 5 to 40 hours of work by the student or alumni, are due a few days to a few weeks out, and are similar to those completed throughout a typical internship. Given the nature of this program, students and alumni are not your employees or contractors, making it easy to provide these opportunities on demand.
