Alumni
Alumni play a vital role with Career and Professional Development (CPD) by mentoring, speaking, and connecting with current students. We welcome alumni to share about their career journeys, offer insights, and participate in informational interviews, networking events, and job shadowing. By advocating for internships and recruitment programs, alumni bridge the gap between academics and professional careers, preparing LMU students for life beyond the Bluff.

Community Organizations
Community organizations can collaborate with LMU CPD by offering volunteer and internship opportunities, providing students with hands-on experience and a chance to give back. All LMU students are encouraged to engage in impactful service. These organizations can participate in career fairs, workshops, and courses focused on nonprofit and public sector careers. They help students develop skills, build resumes, and explore community service careers, while benefiting from the energy and commitment of LMU students.
Employers
Employers can work with LMU CPD to engage talented students and alumni to create a talent pipeline. By participating in career fairs, employer panels, and information sessions, your team can connect directly with LMU talent to offer internships, micro-internships, early career positions, and partner on capstone projects with LMU. CPD can introduce key faculty and campus leaders to align academic programs with industry needs, ensuring graduates meet job market demands. Hosting site visits as part of CPD’s Career Trek program provides valuable experiential learning opportunities as well.

Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff can enhance student career readiness by integrating career development into the curriculum and promoting LMU CPD initiatives. They can invite industry professionals to speak in classes, organize employer site visits, and promote internships. Faculty and staff can also serve as career champions, helping students identify career goals and provide mentorship. Capstone projects offer collaboration opportunities with organizational partners through CPD. By working closely with CPD, we can ensure students receive comprehensive support, combining academic learning with career preparation.
Parents and Families
Parents and families can support LMU students by encouraging career development activities and sharing insights into various professions. They can participate in CPD career panels, networking events, and share their professional experiences and networks. By staying informed about CPD resources, parents can guide and motivate students to take full advantage of these opportunities, ensuring career readiness.

Campus Clubs and Organizations
Student clubs and organizations can collaborate with CPD to connect with industry professionals, organize career panels, networking events, skill-building workshops, and company site visits. They serve as a bridge between students and CPD, promoting career readiness. Partnering on programs provides valuable networking opportunities and access to diverse professionals, helping students build skills, expand networks, and prepare for life after LMU.
