Religiously Affiliated Professional Organizations
Professional organizations are associations in which students can reach out to professionals in their field of interest. Professional organizations have mentorship programs, educational initiatives, and internship opportunities available to students. For students who are religious, there are a number of religiously affiliated professional organizations on the Center for Career Development’s Religiously Affiliated page. Finding a professional organization that aligns with one’s faith is a great way to continue to network and develop in both a personal and professional manner.
The first religiously affiliated professional organization is Muslim Urban Professionals (Muppies). Since 2006, this organization has worked to advance Muslim professionals both personally and in a professional capacity. Through professional development and networking opportunities, Muppies helps Muslim professionals excel to leadership positions in the industries of business, government, and nonprofit. This organization also offers both in-person and online support. For more information, you can reach out to the organization at their email here.
Christian Business Network (CBN) is a professional network of Christians that work to build trusting connections, serve others to the best of their ability, and perform at the highest potential. It is a global community of trustworthy, faithful, professional, and loyal members. For more information about CBN, you can check out their website here.
Jewish Heritage Programs has its own business network for young professionals, otherwise known as Jewish Business Network (JBN). The network’s mission is to work with and inspire those who are not normally involved in Jewish communal activities. They achieve this through peer-to-peer programming to motivate college students to embrace activities that embody Jewish tradition. You can find out more information about JBN at their email.
The Buddhist Business Association has its own networking platform- the Buddhist Business Network (BBN). Its mission is to generate business within the Buddhist community in order to create a global business network to bolster the Buddhist economy.
