Transfer

As a Transfer Student, we recommend getting started early by working with CPD to identify your career goals and develop a strategy for achieving them. Below are some ideas for making the most of your time at LMU.

  • Schedule an appointment with a Career Coach via Handshake to incorporate your previous academic and professional experience into your current resume
  • Attend our industry-specific events to explore job and internship opportunities at companies that recruit at LMU
  • Register to attend the virtual VOCARE Sophomore & Transfer Retreat to reflect on where you have been, who you are, and where you are going within a supportive community of fellow students, staff, faculty, and alumni
  • Apply for a national or international fellowship that provides academic and professional experience related to your career goals
  • Visit What Can I Do With This Major? and LMU’s Academic Catalog to understand how your choice of major will affect your job search
  • Gain clarity about your personality, career interests, strengths by taking one of our career assessments
  • Login to Handshake to set up a job search agent to track opportunities of interest, and monitor On-Campus Recruiting activities, such as employer information sessions, companies conducting interviews on campus, and preparation workshops
  • Update your LinkedIn profile with new accomplishments and continue researching LMU alumni career paths and companies of interest
  • Join and explore The Pride, LMU’s platform for connecting with alumni for mentorship and career guidance. This platform is exclusive to the LMU community, and you can search for alumni based on industry, affinity, areas in which you need help, shared involvement in campus organizations, and more
