Networking can be daunting… but it doesn’t have to be.

Quick advice? Focus on building a relationship, one person at a time. And focus on what you can offer the individual not just what they can offer you, in terms of advice, insights, or perspective. Start with your network, Lions. And yes, you do have a network (professors, classmates, family friends, coaches, and supervisors). Create a profile on LinkedIn as well as LMU Connect to begin building or expanding your network.

LMU Connect (formerly The Pride) and LinkedIn

Connect with alumni to explore different careers and industries, gain job and internship search advice, and grow your professional network. You can search for alumni as well as LMU students, faculty and staff by location, affinity, industry, company, and more.

Additionally, students should create a profile on LinkedIn and connect with alumni, peers, faculty, staff and professionals you meet during your time at LMU. You can look up alumni by typing in “Loyola Marymount University” into LinkedIn’s search bar, and filter based on location, company, and more. Ask for an informational interview.

LMU Alumni Association

Utilize LMU’s Alumni Associations by attending their events, joining their Facebook group, and subscribing to their newsletters. They also offer opportunities to engage with alumni through networking mixers. Learn more about their upcoming events and attend to expand your network.
