Lions for Hire: Support for internships and off-campus jobs

Utilize the various campus resources at your fingertips to identify your goals and land your ideal opportunity. CPD recommends creating a profile on LinkedIn to build your professional brand, connect with your LMU community and research companies. Stop by our office to take a professional headshot at no charge to add to your profile.

Relationships are key for exploring opportunities, be it internships, micro-internships, on or off-campus jobs and learning how your values and skills match the needs of a hiring manager. Be sure to connect too with your LMU community on LinkedIn for mentorship, informational interviewing, and expanding your global network of Lions.

1. Complete Your Handshake Profile

To get the most out of your Handshake experience and find roles that directly connect to your career goals and interests, you’ll want to make a complete profile on Handshake. This platform connects you with LMU students and college students across the globe to learn about companies and hiring practices.

Handshake is also where you register for career events and schedule coaching appointments with our coaches.

Drop-in to meet with one of our peer advisors for some general questions or resume support, located in VDA 135 or in our online zoom lobby. Our career coaches are also available for weekly office hours with no appointment necessary and can be seen based on a student’s College/School affiliation or career interest.
